Pictures from Dan in Colorado
Lean protein is always in the freezer or on the table at Dan's house. Dan took his son to pack out his 2007 bull, found out a bear liked his bull too. Ace, Keno, and Yukon showed the young additions to the pack string how to get the job done on the trail. Dan packed out the antlers and a front shoulder after the kill, the goats packed out the rest. Congrats to Dan on another fine traditional archery public land bull.
I asked Dan how many goats he likes to pack out a bull? His answer: "It depends on how far. I have packed out with 3 when it was only about three miles and I had to carry some also. But long packs 4 works but 5 is ideal."
Here's a few pictures from our own trip in 2007.
Two men in a Kifaru 16 man tipi, Kifaru Arctic stove, good food and drink, all packed in with seven goats. Opportunities seemed to be around every tree on this years elk hunt. While we didn't bring home the bulls, hours of singing challenges and many close encounters made for one of the best hunts ever.
